What is caviar?
It is one of the most expensive dishes in the world, caviar! It consists of eggs of a fish, the sturgeon. So they're basically just raw fish eggs. The eggs are unfertilized, and it's a real delicacy. They say it improves your endurance and also improves your potency.
The sturgeon occurs in rivers and lakes in Russia, Iran and neighboring countries. The fish is thereforeseverely threatened, because the sturgeon beforemust be killed!

You have different types of caviar, from the Caspian Sea and from the Siberian River. It is also available in different colors, e.g. black, silvery, green or dark gray. There is also imitation caviar, e.g. eggs of the rumpfish, trout or wild salmon, which is red in colour. Also for the vegetarians there is an alternative: imitation caviar from algae.
It looks good, but I've never eaten it before. They say it doesn't have much taste. Have you ever eaten it?
