Pablo Picasso was born in 1881, as a child he was already able to draw great. He did the art academy but then left for Paris, where you had to be if you were a modern artist.

Through an exhibition in African art, he was inspired by the masks. The masks looked like faces, but deorms were angular and simple. He got new ideas and came up with a new style. The shapes became simpler and of them he made a sort of puzzle pieces.

Pablo Picasso took the pieces apart and put them back together in a different way. On a painting, then. That division of the shapes into pieces, was the new style:Cubism
