Kabuki is a kind of play that became popular in Japan in the seventeenth century and is still being staged. The actors wear beautiful makeup and costumes. The stage spins around and the players all talk monotonously (cozy!). Of course the music is played on real Japanese instruments.

And what is very surprising: In the Japanese play (theatre) all roles are played by men! So also the role of a beautifully dressed woman. It's forbidden for a woman to act there!
