A ketogenic diet or "keto diet" is a high fat, low carb diet. It can be effective for weight reduction and certain health conditions, something that’s been illustrated in many studies.

4. It protects brain functions: Ketones generated from the keto diet help to provide neuroprotective benefits that protect the brain and the nerve cells.
5. It reduces the risk of certain cancers: a ketogenic diet helps to prevent or even cure certain cancers. It's a safe diet to use alongside chemotherapy and radiation therapy in certain cancers because it provides oxidative stress in cancerous cells than in normal cells.
