In a PhD focusing on this topic, I wanted to answer this ubiquitous question. I checked out a lot of books on this subject, pulled together, compiled, and reviewed all the models and explanations available in the introduction. This information was used to model, define and measure self-awareness. I found some very interesting things about self-awareness. Despite the fact that the word 'self' means 'personal', self-awareness is just as personal as it is about the individual. The other is a very important factor in our self-awareness.
My model highlights the six processes involved in self-identification and each of these is very important for you to be able to identify yourself.
• internal comprehension and understanding;
• be able to live in the present;
• not being overly critical;
• be able to see what is happening to other people;
• know how other people see you;
• the ability to communicate with you.
I have developed an explanation in an effort to integrate all these different aspects of self-awareness. "Self-awareness is a process that involves sensitivity, responsiveness, and a variety of responses generated by both the artificial system and focused systems that are beyond human nature. ” Although this definition is very informative, this definition highlights some of the most important aspects. self-awareness. First, that self-awareness is a process - that is, it goes on, we never fully know it, it is something we should want to improve, be open to, and work on. Second, it highlights the need for balance between you and the environment and this includes other people - not too focused, not too focused on others. This balance includes equality with you - not too hard, not too soft. These are the very standards that people often face.
Based on this model and definition of self-awareness, I continued to practice self-esteem as part of my PhD. After many studies involving thousands of people, I developed, refined, and validated this new standard. It contains 60 questions that can be answered on a seven-point scale from 'almost always' to 'almost never. It is the first valid standard in the world for self-awareness. This is the first step in the process of knowing more and identifying strengths and gaps or areas of blindness.
