What is the difference between civil engineering and architectural engineering?

In the sector of engineering, there are different branches among them architectural and civil are two branches. While civil engineering focuses on the structural elements, checking the quality of material used, formation of building, etc. on the other hand architectural engineering focuses on spatial functionality along with the designing of the structure, look, functioning, etc.

Architecture: the word architect is derived from “Architekton” which means chief builder. As the field deals mostly with the art and science of designing, giving shape and form to a building as it acts as an outer agent.

Civil engineering: as it contains everything starting from the base to the top of a building and acts as a designer, deals with structural elements and maintenance of all the natural and man-made objects.  

In a brief, if we go on defining both the branches then the architectural branch provides the basic designing of the building by putting efforts into color, style, and shape. Whereas after completion of the structural design the work of civil engineers come where they focus on the making of the building and the construction work.

Career scope and eligibility for civil engineers and architectural engineers:

Career for civil engineers:
•    Geotechnical engineer
•    Construction engineer
•    Structural engineer
Eligibility and entrance exam :
•    Major subjects in HSC- physics, chemistry, and maths
•    Having at least 50% in all these subjects
•    Qualifying IIT, AIEE, or any university entrance exam
Career for architectural engineers:
•    Architecture design
•    Architecture engineer
•    Interior designer
•    Architecyure assistant
Eligibility and entrance exam:
•    Major subjects in HSC- physics, chemistry, and maths
•    Having at least 50% in all these subjects
•    Qualifying exams like NATA, AIEE, and other university entrance texts

Tools used in civil engineers may include compass and clinometers, transits and theodolites, levels, chains and taps, prisms and reflectors, grade rods, etc. As there are always new developments happening so they use hundred of tools as it is fieldwork. The job responsibilities include testing building materials, following regulations, and considering possible project hazards. As it is a vast sector therefore it includes the works of every sector. as a branch of civil engineering architectural engineering also possesses some responsibilities like developing contracts, presenting plans to clients, creating drawings and plans, estimating budget and time, and many more.

•    In architectural engineering, it includes interior architecture, urban and rural house designing, sustainable architecture, and many more.
