The main unit of time is the period of the Earth's rotation around its axis. This unit of time is called the day. The day is the time between the culmination of two consecutive eponymous names on a given geographical meridian of a selected celestial body or an imaginary point. The day has a special name for a selected object or point in the celestial sphere. For example, true Sun Day, Middle Sun Day, Star Day, and so on.




As we will see later, the length of these days is slightly different. Parts of the day are used to measure small time breaks. For example, on the 24th day of a true solar day, one is called an hour of the sun, one of the 60th of the sun is called one minute of the sun, and one of the 60th of the day of the sun is called one second of the sun.
