What time is it in PST ?

Pacific Time is located in the Pacific Standard Time zone, which includes places like the United States, Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Panama, and more. Pacific Standard Time (PST)

The Pacific Time Zone is a time zone encompassing parts of western Canada, the western United States, and northwestern Mexico. Places in this zone observe standard time by subtracting eight hours from Coordinated Universal Time (UTC−08:00). During daylight saving time, a time offset of UTC−07:00 is used. The Pacific Time Zone is the largest of the contiguous United States time zones. The zone is one hour ahead of the Hawaii–Aleutian Time Zone, one hour behind the Alaska Time Zone, one hour ahead of the Mountain Time Zone, and three hours behind the Eastern Time Zone.


PST Time Calculation

The Pacific Time Zone (PT) observes standard time by subtracting eight hours from Coordinated Universal Time (UTC−08:00). During daylight saving time, its time offset becomes UTC−07:00. In North America, it is observed in western Canada (the majority of British Columbia and Yukon), the western United States (Washington state and most or parts of five other states), and northwestern Mexico (Baja California Sur and Baja California). There is no corresponding "Pacific Standard Time" (PST) because PST would observe daylight saving time. Pacific Daylight Time and Pacific Standard Time are not presently observed since Hawaii–Aleut.


PST in Canada

Because Canada spans six time zones, there are variations based on province. British Columbia uses Pacific Standard Time (PST) all year-round; Alberta switched to Central Standard Time (CST) from November 2002 to March 2003 and once again from fall 2007 to spring 2009; Saskatchewan stayed on CST until fall 2006 when it observed CST for one year before reverting to CST; Manitoba is on Central Standard Time (CST) during standard time and on Central Daylight Time (CDT) during summer.


PST in Mexico

Mexico is 3 hours behind Pacific Standard Time. To find out what time it is in Cancun, Mexico, when it is midnight in Pacific Standard Time, use the above calculator. You will need to put the current time in Pacific Standard Time and then move the time ahead three hours to get the time in Cancun, Mexico.


PST in the USA

As a result, the zone is one hour behind the Mountain Time Zone, one hour ahead of the Alaska Time Zone, one hour ahead of the Hawaii–Aleutian Time Zone.
