After going through the process of buying a new acoustic guitar recently, I noticed that others might want to know what I consider to be the best approach to buying a new guitar.

- Have patience : don't decide you should buy the guitar that day. Plan at least two trips to the music store before buying.
- Maintain Control : you have the purchasing power and so you are in charge! Don't let music store staff intimidate you.
- research : the web is a great place to find guitar information. Use it to your advantage!

Get Help : Recruit, if possible, a friend who plays the guitar to help you choose an instrument. If you are flying alone, don't be afraid to ask the music store staff multiple questions.
