Family recipe for wheat flour arepas, as they know it in Venezuela Andean arepas, are so delicious.
ingredients
1kg wheat flour.
3 eggs.
2 tablespoons baking powder or baking soda.
1/2 cup Sugar.
1 cup oil.
Salt to taste.
1 cup butter.
1 cup milk.
Preparation Mode:
In a bowl we mix the flour with milk little by little, then we add the eggs, which previously placed in a cup a part, continue stirring without placing all the liquid milk, mix sugar, salt, oil and baking powder, then butter and we are forming a homogeneous mixture, after kneading.
We must leave the dough resting 30 minutes covered to make its fermentation process so that they are softer and fluffy.
After the 30 minutes we will cut the flour into large enough pieces to prepare the arepas, which later place in the budare to cook...
We eat these arepas stuffed with butter and cheese..
Here I show you a photograph of my first Andean arepas, it was a challenge to prepare them, they can not compare with what my mom does, but I had the craving to eat this delight...
