When and why are you intimate with each other?
Be intimate
When you are intimate with someone, you completely expose yourself to the other. It's not nothing to just give your whole body, your whole soul to another. Intimacy seems, in recent years, not to be very intimate anymore. We give ourselves away, without thinking about it. We give ourselves, just like that, to someone we don't know at all or hardly know. Intimacy is almost no longer intimacy. Love and intimacy therefore have almost nothing to do with each other for many. Being intimate with someone should have something to do with love, because otherwise it's not intimate anymore, is it?
Why are you intimate with someone
You can be intimate with someone else out of love, but this can also be pure out of lust. You give away your body, your intimacy to someone you don't really have anything to do with, just because your feelings of lust need to be satisfied. But is this really what you want? Do you want to release your body as an object of lust? Do you use another's body as an object of lust? Lust is also there, when there is love in play, but that lust is serene, that lust revolves around pure love and affection. Of course, love must come from both sides, otherwise for one party it would be purely lust, the other purely love. Of course, this is also common. But, in principle, it should not be. Intimacy is, in my eyes, part of love.
