World War II, generally known as the Second World War, or WWII or WW2, was a global struggle. It lasted from 1939 to 1945. The Allies and the Axis troops established by the majority of countries, including all of the great powers. The major participants committed their economic, industrial, and scientific capacities behind the war effort, blurring the difference between civilian and military resources in total war, directly engaging more than 100 million troops from more than 30 countries. Let us understand the timeline and causes of WW2.

World war 2
It was the second time the world underwent a war. It started when Germany invaded Poland on September 1, 1939. When the Japanese surrendered on September 2, 1945, World War II came to an end. With 70 to 85 million people dying, the vast majority of whom were civilians. World War II was by far the bloodiest conflict in human history. Tens of millions of people lost their lives because of genocide (including the Holocaust), famine, killings, and illness. Germany and Japan were occupied after the Axis defeat. War crimes courts held against German and Japanese leaders.

How it started?
The Nazi Germany invasion of Poland, headed by Adolf Hitler, is mainly regarded as the beginning of World War II. After that invasion, The United Kingdom and France declared war against Germany On September 3. Germany was forced to give up land and was barred from fielding armed forces after World War One concluded in 1918. In 1933, the German people elected Adolf Hitler as the head of the National Socialists or Nazis, a political party in Germany. Hitler claimed to restore Germany's greatness, and he swiftly began arming the country and seizing territories from other nations. German forces breached the Polish border shortly before 5 a.m. on September 1, 1939. Tanks and armored vehicles rushed into the country on the ground, escorted by Stuka dive bombers. A total of 1.25 million German troops invaded Poland. Germany started the Second World War when it launched an unjustified attack on Poland. After Hitler refused to call off his invasion of Poland, Neville Chamberlain, the British Prime Minister, and France declared war on Germany.

How it ended?
At the end of World War II, the Axis powers surrendered unconditionally. It was the day of May 8, 1945. Around a week after Adolf Hitler committed suicide, Germany's surrender spread around the world. Happy people gathered in the streets to celebrate, clutching newspapers proclaiming "Victory in Europe" (V-E Day).  VE Day, or Victory in Europe Day, was declared by Winston Churchill on May 8, 1945. The end of WWII in Europe gets commemorated on this day.
President Harry S. Truman of the United States proclaimed Japan's surrender and the conclusion of World War II later that year. The news immediately spread, and jubilation erupted across the country. On September 2, 1945, aboard the USS Missouri, formal capitulation documents got signed, recognizing the day as Victory over Japan Day (V-J Day). That was the end of world war second.
