When is Stomach Virus Contagious?

A virus is a small organism, small enough to be hidden from naked human sight, that lives inside a host and replicates itself as well, in the host. Virus can't reproduce by itself until it lives in a host where it'll release its genetic material to the host's cell and then, virus particles start increasing. Virus uses the host's cell to reproduce, causing the host harm. Viral infections include common cold, encephalitis and meningitis, and skin infections.

Virus does not necessarily need a doctor's attention until the immune system fails to fight it out of the body.
Viruses are way smaller than bacteria.
Viruses are responsible for Chicken Pox, AIDS, and Covid-19.

Stomach virus, on the other hand, is an internal infection accompanied with diarrhea, nausea, fever and vomiting. Stomach virus can be called Stomach flu and gastroenteritis.

What causes Stomach Virus?

Notovirus and Rotavirus are responsible for stomach virus infection.

Norovirus is responsible for stomach virus in adults while in contrast, rotavirus is responsible for stomach virus in infants or new grown-ups.

These viruses (Notavirus and Rotavirus) infect people through the small intestine's lining.

Stomach virus does not last more than 3 days, but for those whose immune system isn't strong enough to tackle the virus (Infants, new grown-ups, or the aged), they should be taken to the doctor for proper check-up and treatment.

Stomach virus remedy

Antiemetics are usually prescribed by doctors who attend to stomach virus cases and antiematics include promethazine, prochlorperazine, metaclopramide or ondasetron.

These are used to cure nausea while you can also use the over-the-counter pain reliever.
