When is the Royal Rumble

The Royal Rumble is an annual professional wrestling event presented by WWE, the world's largest professional wrestling organisation, since 1988. It's called after the Royal Rumble match, which is a battle royal with timed entrances. The event takes place the week before the Super Bowl, in late January. The Royal Rumble has been presented on pay-per-view (PPV) since 1989 after the first event was broadcast as a television special on USA Network. In 2015, it was made accessible to stream on the WWE Network, and in 2022, it will be available on Peacock. Along with WrestleMania, SummerSlam, Survivor Series, and Money in the Bank, it is one of WWE's five greatest events of the year, termed as "Big Five."

The Royal Rumble is the annual pay-per-view event of the WWE. The first event was held on January 24, 1988, and was televised live on the USA Network as a television special. It was considered one of the WWF's "Big Four" events from 1993 to 2002, along with WrestleMania, Survivor Series, and SummerSlam. The Royal Rumble began airing in 2015 on WWE's internet streaming service, the WWE Network, which debuted in 2014. WWE had to hold its events behind closed doors as a result of the COVID-19 epidemic, which began hitting the industry in March 2020.
The Rumble event has a smaller card than most other pay-per-view events since the Rumble fights take up a lot of time. The 2018 Royal Rumble was the first to feature a women's Rumble match, which served as the main event.

The Match
The Royal Rumble match is modelled after the original battle royal, in which a group of wrestlers (often 30) attempt to eliminate their opponents by tossing them over the top rope with both feet on the ground. The Royal Rumble differs from a traditional battle royal in that in a traditional battle royal, all contestants enter the ring at the same time, whereas in a Royal Rumble event, participants enter at timed intervals.  After all other wrestlers have been eliminated, the match's winner is the last wrestler standing. The incentive for winning has been a world championship match at WrestleMania since 1993. (except 2016, where the prize of the match was the championship itself as the reigning champion defended the title in the match). Participants can find out who will be eliminated by looking at the two wrestlers who will be eliminated before them, as well as who will be joining the Royal Rumble before and after their elimination.

Royal Rumble 2022 will be hosted at The Dome in St. Louis, Missouri, as revealed on September 27th. The event is set to take place on January 29th, where the audience can see Brock Lesnar too. By then, it appears that WWE and Brock Lesnar's contract for eight matches will still be in place. Even if eight matches are completed before the event, the beast incarnate is expected to arrive for Rumble as part of an 18-month deal.
