When the fire is extinguished, then the wolves come

The phrase “when the fire is extinguished, then the wolves come” often makes me think of how relationships have gone, and also my current relationship, and especially the conversation we had about wolves.

So let's talk about the wolves first, and then the fire later.

You see, the wolf is back in the Netherlands, something that was announced with joy, especially in the beginning. an enthusiasm that is decreasing more and more, because sheep are killed and the farmers* (which I'm going to talk about later) were afraid of their cattle. Both Edwige and I came to the conclusion that the wolf gets a very bad name when it comes to natural behavior, just look at books, movies games, Wolves have always done it, because it's a wolf who eats red riding hood and her grandmother, it's a wolf who eats 6 of the Eats up 7 goats, a wolf chasing those 3 piglets, and in a forest hut, Zerbino and Dolce are torn apart by the wolves in alone on the world. Yikes, no wonder the wolf has a bad name. Still, despite all the bad things given to them, the wolf also does good things, because Wolves are the natural enemy for many animals, and without natural enemies, you can get things like with the Cane Frogs in Australia, and all the problems that that little beast causes.

The fact that the wolf is not only bad is also one of the reasons for this post, because also the proverbial wolf, doesn't have to be bad, and with that we get to the Crux of this post, the title and the sentence. “When the fire is extinguished, the wolves come”

Love is often called a flame, so fire, a fire that if it is strong enough ensures that those “wolves” will not come close, but they will be there, in the shadows, waiting, waiting for that moment when the fire will go out, and they can get closer. So it may be clear that with those wolves I mean other people. And because the Wolf doesn't have to be bad, that wolf can also just be someone who is very attractive. with whom you have a click or a spark, that person you are still friendly with now but you have feelings for, those feelings are 1 of the wolves, just like that other person is 1 and that person feelings for you is also a wolf.

And now I hear you think, but Lilith, if you're married or with someone, those wolves aren't just bad? my question on that is, Why would they be bad?

And now I may be a bit more liberal when it comes to love, but also I know that to make sure that the fire does not go out, you (at least) need 2 people, 1 person can't keep the fire on, so if wolves come, 2 will have “to blame” for that, which can also mean that 1 person was only busy with the fire, because the other has already given up. and to stick to the imagery of fire, so at such a time someone is picking wood while the other is not doing anything with it. something that is that the other person makes a lot of effort to keep the fire on but the other has already given up is not entirely 1 sided either, it is not a perfect metaphor, but 1 piece that I feel that works.

and now I wonder, is it a bad thing that there will be a wolf, who will take the other and “devour” which then comes with another saying. “If you love something, sometimes you have to let it go” or “if you love something set it free” which reminds my dean of the pen assignment again. “grab a pen firmly and hold it, how much kram ED. you also feel keep holding him "That way we often deal with relationships, feelings and emotions too, we hold them until we can't hold them anymore because it hurts too much because that moment is about to come, etc Even after you release that pain remains in your hand for a while. so actually just like with relationships, and when we go back to the fire, even if it's dead there will be some heat left behind for a while.



So yes when the fire is extinguished, the wolves come, but the wolf doesn't have to be bad, sometimes it can be better, unless you are ZErbino or Dolce, then not.
