Amazon.com is a global technology corporation based in the United States. E-commerce, cloud computing, digital streaming, and artificial intelligence are specialties of amazon.

Seattle in Washington is where the company's headquarters are located. It is one of the Big Five firms in the United States' information technology industry, with Google (Alphabet), Apple, Meta (Facebook), and Microsoft. Amazon's founder, Jeff Bezos, had a vision for the spectacular expansion and e-commerce dominance of his organization amazon when it initially debuted as a website that only sold books.

From the start, Bezos understood he wanted Amazon to be "everything shop." The amazon corporation is one of the most powerful and economic cultural forces worldwide.

Amazon is the most valuable brand on the planet.  It's an Internet-based firm that sells books, music, movies, housewares, electronics, toys, and many other things.

It has millions of customers who trust the name for quality assurance, timely delivery and amazing shopping experience. The company also brought a unique product to market which is highly appreciated by book readers; it is the Kindle e-book reader. The product revolutionized the reading experience of millions.

When was amazon founded?

Amazon was created by Jeff Bezos on July 5, 1994, in Seattle.  He chose Seattle because of the technological skills available, as Microsoft is based there. Bezos first formed the corporation under the name Cadabra, Inc.

He changed the name to Amazon.com, Inc when a lawyer misinterpreted the previous name of the firm as "cadaver."   Jeff Bezos, the former Wall Street hedge fund executive, chose the name of the firm Amazon.com wisely because it began with the first letter of the alphabet.

And the name amazon was associated with a massive South American river. The start-up began in Bezos' garage on Northeast 28th Street in Bellevue, Washington, in the early days. Mackenzie Scott was the crucial figure in the formation of Amazon, driving across the country with Jeff to get the company off the ground.  

Amazon went public in May 1997. It started selling music and movies in 1998, and in 1999, it went worldwide by buying online book dealers in the UK and Germany. Amazon started offering video games, consumer goods, home improvement items, software, and toys from the following year.

Amazon developed Amazon Web Services (AWS) in 2002, which was meant to offer marketers and developers insight about website popularity, Internet traffic patterns, and other analytics. In 2006, Amazon launched Fulfillment by Amazon, a service that managed the inventory of individuals and small businesses selling their wares on its website.

On February 2, 2021, Amazon announced that Jeff Bezos had resigned as CEO. He will become the Board of Directors' Executive Chair. Andy Jassy will be the next CEO, who is currently the CEO of Amazon Web Services.

In terms of revenue, Amazon is the largest e-commerce company globally. Jeff Bezos believed that the best way to win online was to expand the organization widely and quickly when he first started selling books online in 1994. From books to groceries and shipping containers, the online store now sells everything. It has grown into a one-stop-shop with ambitious growth goals.
