Introduction
Due to the numerous categories of computers, there is no simple solution to this issue. The first industrial computer, invented by Charles Babbage in 1822, isn't what most people think of when they think of a desktop computer. As a result, beginning with the Difference Engine and on to the pcs we utilize nowadays, this website presents a list of every one of the computers number ones.
Analytical Engine was the first general-purpose computer.
Charles Babbage proposed the Analytical Engine, the very first universal mechanical computer, in 1837. An ALU (Arithmetic Logic Unit), rudimentary flow control, punch cards (inspired by the Jacquard Loom), and linked memories were all part of the Analytical Engine. It is the earliest notion of a general-purpose computer that could be used for a variety of tasks rather than just one. Unfortunately, because of financial constraints, this computer was never built during Charles Babbage's lifetime. Henry Babbage, Charles Babbage's younger son, was able to finish a piece of the computer and conduct rudimentary computations in 1910.
IBM's very first home computer- PC 5150 (IBM)
In 1981, IBM released the IBM PC, the company's first personal computer. Acorn was the code name for the computer. It had an 8088 CPU, 16 KB of memory that could be expanded to 256, and MS-DOS.
The first clone of a PC
The Compaq Portable, which was introduced in March 1983, is often regarded as the first PC clone. The Compaq Portable was 100 percent compatible with IBM computers, meaning it could run any software designed for them.
Apple's first computer
The Apple I (Apple 1) was the original Apple computer, and it cost $666.66 when it was first released. Steve Wozniak created the computer kit in 1976, which had a 6502 8-bit CPU and 4 kb of memory that could be expanded to 8 or 48 kb via extension cards. The Apple I had a completely completed circuit board, but it still needed a power source, display, keyboard, and enclosure to work.
The First Laptop Computer
The 5100 is an IBM computer. The IBM 5100, which was introduced in September 1975, was the first portable computer. The computers had a five-inch CRT monitor, tape drive, 1.9 MHz PALM CPU, and 64 KB of RAM and weighed 55 pounds. An advertisement for the IBM 5100 from the November 1975 edition of Scientific American is seen here.
Who Invented First Modern Computer?
The Atanasoff–Berry computers, or ABC, was the very first contemporary electronic digital computer.
It was developed in 1942 at Iowa State University, now called as Iowa State University, by physicist professor John Vincent Atanasoff and his doctoral student Clifford Berry.
Conclusion
If you would like to learn more about computers, you should visit the Computer’s museum. Mountain View, California's Computer History Museum is a museum dedicated to computer history. The museum highlights the computer revolution and its influence on society by presenting tales and artefacts from Silicon Valley and the information age.
