Where did all those hedges go?
A century ago, the Dutch peasant land was crossed by a network of thousands of kilometers of hedges and wood jigs. Exchange allotment and barbed wire ended that abruptly after World War II. Nature does recover, but man 1 more generation, then it becomes a drama. Uninhabitable continents due to extreme heat and waterlogging, and all those people are coming to the temperate climatic zones. And so that's here
