Where there is a football field there is fun and imagination: a tribute to Neville Gabie

Readers friends here I am back to you to talk about football if you remember the last time there was a game between Northern Irish kids and a team of Martians, one of them kicking the ball too high had broken a window and so at the end of the game they asked me to find another football field, very well Neville Gabie photographed many and I painted some of them, today I will take them to Paraguay where there is a football field with a normal footballgoal behind it two trees on the river bank, there are no windows to break but they must be careful to kick the ball without sending it into the river water, our players will be so good?


-Hello Walter thanks for finding us a new football field but we have changed our mind, today we would like to see the game on the sidelines because we would like to learn to play with the imagination and then we brought some things to eat, no problem true?
-Actually even the Northern Irish kids couldn't come, they had indigestion of ice cream, however I can always organize a game between Paraguayan kids. While I am talking to the Martian a man approaches.

And so on this football field a team of Paraguayan kids and a team of old fishermen challenged each other and already these fishermen were old sea wolves, the goalkeeper had a pipe in his mouth and during the game almost everyone drank cold beer instead of water, when they missed a passage they said swear words but then also sang love songs and so the Paraguayan kids had an easy game, they scored many goals but the fishermen were happy all the same, meanwhile the Martians tried to learn the game of football made of imagination and joy but they could not memorize anything because they could not learn what comes from the heart and from fantasy, fantasy is something so abstract, something that does not exist and comes out almost by magic and unfortunately for Martians it is difficult to learn magic, so magical that while the game stages were unfolding the fishermen stopped to talk to the Martians about who had caught the biggest fish, someone along with the extraterrestrials ate bread and chocolate and the football goalkeeper tried to make him smoke his pipe, naturally without happened, even the kids, even the kids who had smelled the scent of vanilla biscuits stopped, the game was interrupted and all together they celebrated, the ball remained in midfield and luckily no one had thrown it on the river, I I could not even take a picture, you will understand that if the news were in the newspapers a big mess would have happened, the Martians and all the players had a nice party and finished all there was to eat and so in the end the fishermen went back to fishing, the kids came back happy to play football and the Martians got back into their spaceship, I stayed at looking at them I had a cup of hot coffee in my hand and I was happy for their happiness they had felt during the football match, I can't tell you where the next match will take place and who will play it, for sure there will be fun and imagination, I wait for you and if any of you want to challenge the Martians give me a whistle I'll take care of you to take the field, do you prefer the 4-4-3 or the 3-5-2?
