Which camera suits you? - Lesson 2 of the Yoors Photography Course
Camera Choice
This is a new part of the Yoors Photography Course and we started at the basics, what is actually shooting. If you want to shoot, you should know that it really doesn't matter what you're going to do that with. Most phones take beautiful photos these days and the compact cameras also have a lot of nice options. If you want to have more and more influence on the exposure of the photos, you will soon find yourself at a System - camera or SLR camera. Each camera has its own advantages:
Mobile phone camera
- The big advantage of the camera on your mobile phone is that you have it with you almost all the time. It's easy to carry. Modern phones also allow you to customize a lot of settings in the Pro mode. You can also take great pictures in the auto mode.
- One disadvantage is that you can only look on your screen and that bright light is not always visible. Even inside, not every camera takes beautiful, well-lit photos.
- The phone is often very flat which makes it difficult to hold.
Compact camera
- The compact camera is easy to take with you and the camera often opts for excellent lighting. For the novice photographer who wants to influence the composition and the subject itself, it is a great camera.
- For little money, you can buy a compact camera.
- There are more expensive models in which you can customize many settings on your own. The downside is that you can't change lenses with the compact camera. The photosensitivity is often not great, so indoor photos often fall out too dark or eventful.
- One disadvantage may be that you cannot use different lenses.
