The magic of the cover of The White Album. The White Album by The Beatles is not only loved for the music, the white cover is an icon.

In Black Album/White cube, the promising exhibition on art and pop music at the Kunsthal in Rotterdam, you will find an intriguing record cover. Well, more than one intriguing record cover, let's say that. This particular cover is covered with what a creative pedagogue would describe as 'an unrestrained piece of free expression', and what you and I would call 'lilleke graffiti': a chaos of scribbles, sweeps, scratches, hearts and letters that often form the word 'Beatles', probably not for nothing. It could be fan art, made by a moderately talented enthusiast. It is definitely fan art, albeit not intended as art, and created by a hundred Beatles enthusiasts, not one.

In the Kunsthal in Rotterdam you can now wander through 2,620 copies.
