Who remembers them: The Highwaymen
The #Highwaymen was an American country band that performed on occasion. Theband was founded in 1985 by country corifaes Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings and also consisted of Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson. Their first song Highwayman immediately became a big hit and even made it to the top of country music rankings in 1985, when Columbia released the eponymous album Highwayman. That too was a success. In 1990, the album was continued with a new CD, Highwayman 2, and again five years later, in 1995, the musical quartet released their latest album, TheRoad Goes On Forever.
Thesuccessful collaboration of the four country singers came to an end in 2002 when Waylon Jennings died in his sleep due to diabetes. A year later Johnny Cash also died of diabetes. Theother band members, Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson, are both still alive.
