My late dad had a good command of it and because of his tutoring, I once made no progress. The Pythagorean theorem was the easiest. I couldn't do sine, cosine and tangus without a calculator (fortunately, we were allowed to use them for it). We had a decent, strict but fair math teacher and when he explained with chalk and graceful handwriting on the board, I was mesmerized. Unfortunately, he died suddenly at the age of forty.
Mathematics: the saddest subject in school. That was certainly the case for the creatives among us. For my wife and son, however, it is a source of entertainment.
