Warm compresses and over-the-counter pain relievers may also be beneficial.

Boils:
A red, uncomfortable bump may be a boil. Boils are local infections, meaning that the disease is contained within the boil and not in the surrounding skin. Boils can develop from cysts, acne, and clogged hair follicles. Squeezing a boil may aggravate or spread the infection. Instead, patients should apply warm compresses to the affected region and clean the area.

If a person develops a fever or the boil is extremely painful or does not disappear within a few days, they should seek medical attention. It may drain the bump, or antibiotics may prescribe.
