Why do people vote?

Some of you have assumed that you will not vote this time, you will not go to the polls. I wonder why you have made such a decision. Your thoughts on making such a decision may be as follows:

'What will happen with the vote?'

"That same team will win."

"My vote will be stolen."

"Whether I voted or not, corruption will continue."

"I don't have to vote for anyone, everyone is one."

'There are enough people to vote. Nothing goes with my vote. '

'I am afraid to vote. Who knows what will happen that day. '

I'm sure you've heard these words around you, these questions are more or less in the world of our thoughts. At the root of these questions is the loss of confidence in the election. You have lost the belief that your vote really has any value.

It is true that we can go from year to year, decade after decade, regardless of the importance of personal choice. But I wonder, what if we never go to the polls? What if I refrain from voting all the time?

I think some candidates will be elected with some people's votes. Those voters are dependent on those candidates in many ways, they may be illiterate, so they cannot read this article, their access to information is limited. However, whether these candidates have the talent or qualifications to become members of parliament, whether they have care, respect, and love for the country and the people of the country, whether they have ideas or philosophy for building a united and developed Bangladesh, these issues are actually controversial.

I wonder if a man can do good for the country without participating in elections. Although I believe that good can be done for the country without participating in elections, I also think that it is possible to make a good difference in the situation of the country by participating in elections. Although you can't see the difference today. I believe that you play an important role in creating the culture that is needed to make a good difference.

As long as our government is formed through elections and we believe that the future government should be formed through elections, it is important that we all participate in the elections. Whether your vote is stolen or not, I believe, it is very important that every citizen across the country exercise their right to vote.

It is easy to understand why one should vote if the vote is not stolen. You have the value of your vote, you can choose the candidate who can best represent the issues in your area in Parliament and other relevant places. You can make sure that you agree with the people in your area so that the best candidates are selected for the area. But who is the best candidate, how can it be verified?

Undoubtedly, it is important for you to know who the candidates are in your area, what their past experiences and contributions are, what they think about the future of their area and country, and what the ability to work in their area will be if elected. It is important that this information be disseminated to all citizens so that they can better understand and vote.

However, it is not necessary to show the information only to the citizens. That information needs to be interpreted, analyzed, and reasoned based on that interpretation-analysis. Since you can read this article, most likely you have got formal education and got an idea about different countries and cultures of the world. Therefore, most likely you have acquired the skills to interpret, analyze and consider subtly. As a reader of this article, you have gained the strength and advantage to use your knowledge and intellect to consider.

But what will happen if votes are stolen in the election? If you do not vote at all, you will not be able to understand or claim that your vote has actually been taken. You can't say anything about what happened to your vote at the polling station.

However, if you and people in your area vote and then it is stolen, you can claim that your vote was invalidated. In exchange for participating in the election, you will be able to say out loud that this election does not work for you. If not, there will be no argument about whether your vote has been cast or not — you have not come to participate in the election. Otherwise, you probably won't know if your vote was stolen or not.
