The male paw has a long beautiful tail, with the most beautiful colors. If he puts his tail on, like a fan, then it looks great! And that is, of course, his intention. He wants to impress the hens, the females. The male makes himself as big as possible. Because a female wants a big and strong guy. Thus her chicks become big and strong.
The peacock is not the only bird with a long beautiful tail. In Japan there are growers with tails that can be up to 10 meters long!
