My passion for photography is to capture what I see at that moment and that can be anything. A beautiful landscape, a city where I am at that moment, but it can also be a mushroom, my husband or dog. I want to capture this as beautifully as possible and then decided to deepen myself in photography. This is how I started the idea to join a Photogroup in 2016. How I have experienced this so far, you can read that in this blog post.

VISUALLY SET

My passion for photography started to come back very slowly, first with a compact camera and later bought my first digital SLR camera. That was something different, than shooting with an analog camera. Precisely because it is digital and immediately saw results, I wanted to take a little more than snapshots with a camera. I wanted to capture the things I saw, the way I saw them in books and magazines.

Only that's easier said than done. My father is no longer alive, so I'm afraid I can't learn from him anymore. Although he taught me the basics, that was all he taught me. Now you can also learn a lot from the internet, but because of my dyslexia it is very difficult to understand what it says and I am very visual.

In addition, you can really shoot in a lot of subjects, so I wanted to find my own way in that. So instead of going to a workshop, I actually started looking for a photography association and soon came to Photogroup Klazienaveen out.

MY FIRST ACQUAINTANCE

The first acquaintance with Photogroup Klazienaveen was planned, which is of course quite exciting. Because you don't know what awaits you or what the group is like. Now I was a little biased about that, because I expected to end up with a bunch of retired people. Fortunately, that was not easy, although of course there are a few members who have reached this age.

For my first night I also had to bring some Christmas stuff, because they had Christmas cards on the program. It was at the end of November and was definitely not even busy with Christmas. So that was quite a challenge to find some things together and then also nice decorating to make a picture of it. That was not what I had proposed for a Photo Group, but was open to it. Although it was quite a challenge to make something fun out of this, because I am not that creative myself.
