Martin Luther King wanted equal rights for all, not black and white. Monday, January 21 was Martin Luther King Day. This day is a public holiday in America. Extreme discrimination against black people was once practiced in America. White people do not mix with blacks. Even when white people got on the bus, black people had to give up their seats. Whites do not eat in the same restaurants as blacks. Caste discrimination was evident.
Martin Luther King Jr. was the first person to protest against discrimination against black people in America. Originally, his official civil rights movement began in December 1955. In December 1955, police arrested Rosa Parks, an African-American woman. There were allegations against Parks as to why he did not give up his seat to another white American passenger as he was returning from the office by bus. Then Martin Luther King and the rest of the society started a protest movement. Decided to boycott bus service. Some walk, some drive to and from the office. After many days of this movement, discrimination against whites and blacks in vehicles was declared illegal in the state of Alabama.
This famous man who fought for human rights was born on January 15, 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia. His father was Martin Luther King, Jr., and his mother was Alberta William King. He was born Michael Luther King. Later, as a teenager, he changed his name to Martin Luther King Jr., after his father's name.
"Some people don't like you," said Martin Luther King. It's not that you did him any harm. Yet, you just dislike him. Many people will not like your walking and talking. Someone might dislike you. Because you know better than that. You are popular, people like you, that may be the reason for dislike. Your hair is a little bigger or shorter than that, maybe your skin color is a little brighter or duller than that! Just because you hurt someone doesn't mean you don't like them. Dislike comes from jealousy. This feeling has an effect on human instincts.
He added that darkness cannot dispel darkness. Only light can drive away the darkness. Hate cannot be eradicated by hatred. Hatred can only be overcome by love.
Martin Luther King, Jr. stood in front of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., on August 26, 1963, in a massive rally demanding the economic emancipation of blacks and equal rights in all areas, including employment. This rally was the most important rally in the history of American rights. His famous speech, "I Have a Dream," in the presence of nearly two and a half million people from Washington to the Lincoln Memorial, is a memorable historical speech against racial discrimination.
He spoke in support of the US Alliance, but said that maintaining some independence was not the answer. "We have no recourse until blacks are persecuted, denied the right to stay in hotels and motels, as long as there are signboards for whites only," he said. I know today or tomorrow our time is critical. Yet I dream that this nation will be awakened, people's faith will be evaluated. Racial discrimination will end. All human beings are equal at birth. The provocative "I Have a Dream" speech was followed by the enactment of the Civil Rights Act in 1974 and the Right to Suffrage Act in 1975.
Martin Luther King began his school life at Booker T Washington High School in Atlanta. He received a bachelor's degree in sociology from Morhouse College in 1948 and a doctorate of philosophy from Boston University in 1955. Martin Luther King was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1974 for his non-violent movement for the establishment of human rights. As long as he lived, all people, not just blacks and whites, fought for the rights of the oppressed.
On April 4, 1968, this great leader was shot dead by a white extremist assassin.
His movement did not fail. Although there is still unwritten black-and-white discrimination in society. But now there are many changes in work, in friendship, in school-college and on the bus. The biggest example is former President Barack Obama. Did anyone think that everyone would support him? People have now moved away from caste discrimination and started thinking of people in terms of merit. This change of thought and equality is the key to Luther King's success. It is for him that Equal Rights has been established in America today.
He said, if you can't fly, run, if you can't run, walk, if you can't walk, crawl, whatever you do, you have to move forward.
In fact, he is successful. His efforts, concentration and struggle have made him immortal in history.
Martin Luther injured in lightning strike
Martin Luther VIII was born in 1483 in Iceland, the son of a miner In 1501 he began his studies at the University of Airports He completed his master's degree four years later and began studying law
One incident at that time changed Luther's life In July 1505, he was struck by a large storm and was struck by lightning At the risk of his life in that event, he was afraid to stand before God unprepared. At that time he called St. Anna and expressed his desire to become a monk
Luther's life as a monk began
This young monk was remarkably loyal to the ashram from the very beginning As a result, in 1506, two years after entering the ashram, he was declared a priest Teaching theology was the main subject of his research and he loved it
The first experience of redemption in exchange for money
Luther VII went to Rome in 1510 at the behest of Augustine At the time, the Vatican's Papal Court Courier was struggling to raise money for expensive construction work on the St. Peter's Basilica. Church leaders then resorted to extortion in exchange for money. Christians are told that they can do good if they want to, or that they can be set free from sin in exchange for money According to the income, the amount to be paid is also determined then 7 Even the relatives of the deceased are given the opportunity to spend money on their redemption if they wish.
In Rome, Luther did not take this approach to atonement positively He completed his doctorate in theology in 2012 and became a professor at the University of Wittenberg. At one point in his research, Luther realized that God is not only a judge but also a father who loves his children. At that time he determined the four pillars of religion The first is the Holy Scriptures He considered the Bible to be the only benchmark of religion, although the churches at that time followed other instructions from the Pope and the Church Council. Second, he concludes that salvation can only come through God's grace, not through good works. This belief of his then makes the method of atonement for money meaningless Third, Luther concludes that the only bridge between humanity and God is Jesus Christ. And fourth, he believes that we are protected only by faith
Martin Luther, a theologian, continued to preach these beliefs among students and in congregations In the beginning no one paid much attention to it, but at one point the church's tone changed At that time, the issue of redemption for money became a common thing in Germany In October 1518, Luther VII organized a debate on the subject But no one appeared there He then sent his thesis to Cardinal Albert of Brandenburg, Elector and Archbishop of Mainz. He also hung the thesis on the church wall so that anyone could read it if they wanted
The issue then shook the foundations of the church Debate started everywhere Martin Luther was also able to spread his message quickly thanks to the relatively new printing press of the time.
October 31 was the 500th anniversary of Luther's revolution, which marked the beginning of Protestantism. On this occasion, various exhibitions have been organized in Germany throughout the year.
