Taylor Swift has accumulated an abundance of prices in a relatively short period of time, including the most coveted, the Grammy Award . But when nominations were announced for the 60th Annual Grammy Award, Swift's latest album, Reputation was missing. why?

Timing is everything

Like most things in life, it all comes to using the right timing. To qualify for a Grammy Award for 2018, albums had to fall in the acceptable period, according to the Grammy website: October 1, 2016 and September 30, 2018 . They had to be commercially distributed, i.e. sold online or in a store, and withdrawals had to be available for sale within the acceptable period from any date through at least the date of the current year's voting deadline. Reputation couldn't get Grammy this time because the album was released on November 10, 2017, six weeks after the end of its validity. That does mean Reputation will be eligible for the 61st Grammy Awards in 2019.
