WITCHER SEASON 2 REVIEW (NO SPOILERS)
#Whattowatch The Witcher is one of the most anticipated and well-received TV shows to have ever been produced by Netflix. The show is an adaptation of the novels with the same name as well as three video games which are also adaptations to the original novels. A little bit confusing isn't it? Well, fret not young viewer as the show takes its time explaining the events preceding the main story and you can find yourself fully immersed into the history and the world the show presents. The main character, The Witcher or Geralt, is portrayed by Henry Cavill who contrary to popular belief is a huge computer and book nerd and knows everything about the series so you won't have to worry if you are a true fan of the novels and games. One of the major events of this year is the release of the highly-anticipated second season of The Witcher and through this review, we'll see how well it fairs to the first season and whether we can hope for more improvements for the rest of the upcoming seasons. Let's dive into the world of The Witcher and if you get easily scared, be sure to bring some company as you will feel safer and enjoy the show more.
The review
For the second season of the show, we are yet again thrown into the horrible world of monsters and abominations which are not limited to only true monsters, but also people. We follow immediately after the events of the first season so there is no confusion regarding the events and the characters. Geralt makes a comeback alongside Ciri and we can be sure that the story and dynamics between the two will be fully realized and we'll get to see some new altercations and relationships regarding the main characters. It's not every day that we get to see such an epic show revolve around two main characters with Yennefer also being a major part of the story and Geralt's unrelenting desire to see her again.
Ciri and Yennefer will probably be his major motivation to keep on being the same brooding and kind-hearted witcher we know he is and I don't think there will be many character changes regarding Geralt's personality, focusing more on the character arc of Ciri and Yennefer. All of the other lovable characters also make a comeback and you can be sure that the show will probably have a major event by the time you are fully immersed into the story, a clear parallel to the finale of the first season where we see Yennefer's true powers unleashed. Nothing is impossible in this universe and we can always look to the main characters to resolve every conflict. Plot armor is not something that you see in the TV show as there is no need for it.

Focusing on the characters
The Witcher has plenty of stories and feats from far greater witchers and creatures, and yet we focus on these characters, their stories, their motivations, and dilemmas because everyone can resonate with them from Geralt, a brooding and talented witcher who never shows his weak side to others and accepts all of the insults and discrimination that is thrown towards him; Yennefer who might as well be a glass cannon with every decision she makes and likes to act tough and cold when in reality she only wants a child and true happiness and lastly Ciri, the princess who witnesses her whole country get taken over and all of her loved ones die, seeking revenge and a better understanding of her powers.
