Energy costs keep rising. After the overview for saving on gas costs, below are tips to save on electricity costs in an easy way. And of course without investing large amounts of money, life is expensive enough. #savemoney

1. Pay attention to power consumption; For example, do not leave phone chargers plugged in. The standby mode of devices also ensures power consumption. Turn off the TV, computer monitors, etc when not in use.

2. Only turn on the light in the room where you are and replace your current lights with LED lights.

3. Wash and vacuum preferably in the evening, the power is (usually) cheaper in the evening than during the day. Attention! Do you have solar panels? Then it's best to wash/vacuum when your panels generate power.

4. Wash at a low temperature. The washing machine consumes the most energy by heating up the water. By washing at 40 or even 30 degrees, you save a lot of energy.

5. Defrost your freezer a bit more often. Your freezer consumes the least energy if you defrost it regularly.

6. Dry the laundry on a leash or on a drying rack. Good for your clothes too! If you do use a dryer, make sure you don't dry half washes.

7. Make use of daylight; leave the curtains open a little longer so you don't have to turn on your lights so early. Solar outdoor lights are also a nice way to illuminate the garden.

8. Smart devices; I myself have Philips's Hue system at home, with which I control (almost) all lights inside and outside the home via my smartphone, but there are also cheaper options to control your lights remotely.

9. Are you a tea or coffee lover? Then consider a thermos. You don't have to keep the coffee warm and the kettle doesn't have to be turned on several times.

10. Charge your equipment at work. Make sure your phone and/or laptop battery is full before you go home. You can also charge your phone in the car via the cigarette lighter.

What do you do to save electricity?

With these tips, you can easily save on your electricity without having to invest a large amount of money.
