Where to go? Wherefore?

It is a luxury problem, at least if all goes well. Do we travel to Venice, Istanbul or Lisbon?

This fall, I would like to run a marathon. Sufficient preparation time for 42 kilometers ahead. When cool down, a well-deserved vacation calls for different preferences. We have visited Turkey and Portugal together before, but we have no footsteps in Lisbon or Istanbul yet. What does it do again? Are there variables that determine the choice of location?

In Venice, it's the fourth Sunday of October between 7 and 14 degrees and you'll walk across a fairly flat area, past the M9 museum, across a 4 kilometer long bridge and finish just past St Mark's Square. The start is around half past ten and transport for participants and personal belongings has been arranged. Ten days of vacation in a hotel with breakfast is about 1000 Euro per person.

On November 5, you'll walk across the Martyr Bridge in Istanbul, past a mosque or two, then across the Galata Bridge to head towards the finish line at the blue mosque, after first passing two more. All this at a temperature between 12 and 18 degrees. The time limit is 20 minutes wider (6 hours 20) and the vacation is around 250 Euro cheaper. We've been on the road more than twice as long, though.

Things go wild in Lisbon at eight o'clock on October 8. A breathtaking waterside route towards the old city center. In terms of travel time, it is right in between; in terms of temperature, this is the leader by a maximum of 23 degrees. You don't have to ignore Lisbon for the price either.
