March 8. and what better to write about as a woman than women and their rights.
After all, it's not so crazy long since women didn't have a voice. literally and figuratively. We just weren't allowed to vote. Men were mistaken as the stronger and smarter sex and all too often women were only allowed to jack and remain silent.
In earlier times, smart, independent women were unfortunately seen as witches and ended up at a stake like that. often betrayed by other women who thought to save their own ass like this.
If you were unlucky enough to be trapped in a loveless marriage, you could only
hoping your partner was human and left you alone while doing his thing. after all, you couldn't go a way.
Fortunately, this silence began to change the moment women went out to work out and make their own money. Suddenly, you were able to maintain and separate your own or even decide that you didn't need a man. However, the changes only started very steadily, after all, the wages for equal jobs are still not equalized everywhere. and it's not the male colleague who then makes less. The fact that you, as a woman within a marriage, can give your family name to your child is also just a recent development.
So YES. we deserve a day that brings to the attention of exactly how far we get and how far we have to go. For me, this is also a day that tells me that as women we have to stand together just a little more often instead of attacking or necking each other. But 1 thing is for sure. a NEW woman has risen.
And the men then. who had to get used to this new woman. Suddenly it seemed like they were no longer needed. or not in their old role. However, my experience is that even the most strong woman occasionally wants someone to take her into protection. so men, don't despair. In the end, most of us just want to stand equally next to you and not dominate you.
What I am more concerned about, however, is that in the wake of this positive development, a very big thing has arisen towards men. Don't get me wrong, I am not advocating for tolerating cross-border behavior here. no one (man nor woman) should tolerate this, but that seems to me rather a social mindset.
What I'm talking about is men who are accused of flirting when they keep the door open for you. ladies, that's not flirting but courtesy. Men who hardly dare to look at a beautiful woman, because she takes offense. Okay, it's a fine line. but if it stays with just watching. and honestly, I don't look away from a handsome man either. Often it seems quite random and a man can afford something as long as the woman has bad. However, if you have the woman in question at you, then murder and fire can be screamed for the least. Admittedly, the boundaries are vague and one woman is not the other either. But I really do think that the hard lines of what can and can't be done are pretty clear to most people.
Sometimes it seems to me that we women don't really know what kind of NEW man we want right now. A macho that is punished after women. but a man who shows his feelings is soon a wimp.
The best way to go through this growth process is quite simple. Women, just don't do the men what we used to suffer ourselves (are we the smarter sex mss anyway;)
HAVING RESPECT FOR EACH OTHER IS THE MOST IMPORTANT HERE,
and a little common sense. then we'll get there.
