Yoors Flower parade, day 17
Today in the Yoors Flower parade: the Tradescantia, or day-flower.
This flower is also known as; Moses in the rushes basket.
The perennial plant with long slender leaves blooms for only one day per flower, and that immediately explains its name.
It is a perennial plant that can bloom richly in the summer. In our garden is the purple variant, it is also available in white or blue.
If the plant is enjoying it, you will enjoy it for months.
This plant is not fastidious: it grows almost everywhere. Usually you see it in gardens, but according to Wikipedia it is also found in the wild in the Netherlands.
