Yoors Flower Parade, day 30
Today at the Yoors Flowerparade, the Agapanthus, or African Lily.
The Agapanthus originates in South Africa, and you often see in the Netherlands as a pot plant.
It is a bulbous crop, which is not hardy, that is, you need to keep it frost-free in winter.
It is a plant with long green leaves, and flowers that form on long stems. Many flowers on one stem.
I have always found it a beautiful plant, and also had many years of it, but unfortunately the plant does not like sea breeze, and at my present place it has not given flowers anymore, my plants live with my parents now, where I made pictures of different species Agapanthus below.
There are more than 20 species!
The Agapanthus blooms from June to September, and is a feast for the eyes on your terrace!
