Today in the flower parade, the Lily.
Lilies are bulbous plants, which we know in the Netherlands mainly as a garden plant or as a cut flower.
There are countless species of it.
Various colours and shapes. Some smell good, some have edible bulbs.

With lilies, you'll soon have Lily Roosters in your garden: blood-red beetles who prefer nothing more than eating your lily.
The Lily photographed by me is in my parents' garden.
Despite the fact that there are many species and colors of lilies, they have one thing in common: their striking stamens.

And those stamens are sometimes annoying: when you get the pollen in your clothes you have a problem, it causes nasty stains!
My tip: as soon as you see that there is lily pollen on your clothes: do not rub, no water!
Grab a piece of tape and gently stick it over the pollen. Pull it away, and you remove it.
If there is still pollen, take a dry sponge, or stuffing of a seat cushion, and then gently wipe the stain, then wipe the pollen away.
If you use water, you'll never get the velk out of your clothes again.

But despite the possible stains: they are way too beautiful not to want in your garden?
