Today at the Flower Parade: the Burning Love.
The neat (Latin) name of the plant is: Lychnis chalcedonica, but I like Burning Love more.

This perennial plant reminds me a little of the thousand-beautiful, but the flowers are very different.
The Burning Love is always red in color, intense red even, and that's where the name of the plant comes from.
In English, the plant is called Malteze cross, because of the shape of the flowers resembling a Maltese cross.

The Burning Love comes from Russia, Mongolia and China.
He seems to be easy to grow out of seed. I never tried.
My experience is that the Burning Love loves sandy soil, here in the clay-like soil he does not do well.
I took the pictures with my parents.

Funny fact: the book Burning Love by Jan Wolkers is a nod to this plant. The plant is also found in the film.
