Today I take you to Thailand, where I photographed the Plumeria or Frangipani during one of our holidays.
The Plumeria is a family of the periwinkle, a common species in our country.

However, this Plumeria is a tropical plant. or, say, a small tree.
Plumeria flowers do not have nectar, and are fertilized by stingtail butterflies.
The tree is considered sacred in Thailand, and can often be found near temples.

You may find the plant in the various butterfly gardens in the Netherlands, or in the Orchideënhoeve, otherwise I “fear” that you have to make a trip to Thailand to see the plant live; -)
