Today in the Flowerparade: a flower you wouldn't expect to be called that, at least I don't...
I'm talking about the Gladiolus.
You know, those things you get when you've finished the Nijmegen four days.

Now I think the four day running out of Nijmegen is an achievement of great value, but to give someone gladiolus...
Unless it is this Gladiolus፦).
I'm talking about the Abyssinian Gladiolus.

You plant this tuber in the spring, and after that it is waiting for it to grow.
Put it in a nice sunny spot, and you will get a delicious smelling flower!
The magazine resembles that of the Crocosmia, yet, as far as I know, it is not a family.

The tuber is not hardy, after flowering you let the plant die and then remove the tuber from the ground.
The tuber overwinter you frost-free, and you plant it again in the spring.
Tell yourself: this doesn't look like a Gladiolus, does it?
