Yesterday I walked there, and there he was again: one of my favorite “weeds”: the Doornappel.
Thornapples or Datura is a plant in the Nightshade family.
Thorn apple is beautiful, but stay away from it, because the plant is poisonous!
Thorn apple blooms in September, October, with funnel-shaped white flowers.
Seen from the front, the flower is pentagonal, with a pestle and visible stamens.
The plant itself has large leaves, and the thorny apple has a thorny fruit, which contains many seeds.
I see the thorn apple mainly in the dunes.
Thorn apples contain substances that cause hallucinations.
Some drug users try to use thorn apple, but this never results in a fine intoxication!
There has also been an attempt to use Doornappel for medication, but this does not work either.
