Today in the Flower Parade: the Cyclamen.
Many will know the plant as a houseplant.
In mainly pink and white you can see the plant in many living rooms.
I saw them mostly at my grandma's.
However, the Cyclamen can also be planted as a perennial plant in the garden.
We are talking about a species different from the houseplant.
There are currently 23 species of Cyclamen.
Cyclamen are tubers, and pigs love them!
For people it is not recommended to eat the tubers: they contain a substance that has a very laxative effect.
Luckily for the pigs, they do not suffer from this.
My father pointed to me the leaf, which is sometimes round in shape, sometimes more oval, but generally contains a Christmas tree drawing.
I have to admit, I've never noticed that before.
Cyclamen in the garden do well in a dry place, partial shade is favorite.
In the living room, Cyclamen do not like heaters so much.
Always water them next to the pot, on the saucer, then they bloom the longest.
Dead flowers can be removed by removing the stem close to the tuber, there is generally a new bud growing quite quickly.

de plant van mijn mams. En ze kon ze lang houden hoor. En idd er stonden altijd schoteltjes onder. Ik heb het 1x geprobeerd maar ze lieten bij mij gelijk hun kopjes hangen nou ja hun steeltjes kan ik beter zeggen.
