Today in the Yoors Flowerparade: the Straw Flower (official name: Xerochrysum bracteatum, say straw flower).
This native Australian plant was stalked in the nineteenth century and transported to Germany, where many colours were grown.
In Australia, it is a falsest plant.

The funny thing about this flower is that the leaves crunch from the beginning as if they were made of paper.
Trust me, they're not!
The plant is very easy to care for: a sunny spot and he is satisfied, in his homeland he even makes it in the desert!
The only thing they can not tolerate is frosts. In our country, they are mostly potted plants.
The plant blooms exuberantly from June to September and is loved by bees and butterflies.

Funny facts: Joshphine, Napoleon's wife collected this flower as one of her treasures in the special garden at Château de Malmaison.
The Latin name of the plant refers to the bracts, which we regard for the flower. The real flowers are in the heart of the plant/flower, you can see them in the pictures below.
