Yoors Flowerparade, day 61

Today in the Flower Parade a flower I bought on the assumption that it was called “butterfly flower”.
I knew it was a perennial, it stands in our garden, and I knew that it blooms nicely, but that was about it.
So I'm on a scavenger hunt, and I've become wiser!

We are talking about the Gaura Lindheimeri, which is not called Butterfly, but Beautiful Candle!
Don't ask me where that name comes from, because the flowers look like, you guessed it: butterflies!
So beautiful candle, a perennial that loves sun.

At us in the garden is about 30cm high, but it can reach 80-100cm high.
Apparently he's not quite in the right place, learned something again!
The Beautiful Candle gives light pink or white flowers.

In winter, the plant is bare, and before it becomes that you can prune it back.
Can, do not need: if you do not prune, you have a chance that the plant will sow itself out.
I say: let it sow!

The plant blooms June-September, with a little luck October.
I think it's a cute little flower that likes to welcome bees.
I haven't seen butterflies on ours yet, but that's possible because there's a butterfly bush nearby.
