Hello, dear friends!
Today's prompt for Yoors November is "Cover". Here is my entry: I decided to take a photo of a cover of a book I studied this semester. It's called "1984" and it was written by George Orwell.
The book was written as a response to socialism in the URSS back in the day. This book is still relevant to this day because of everything that has been happening in our world. The extract we studied from "1984" will forever stay in my heart because of the way I related to it. I was born in Bulgaria, a country that has been under a socialistic regime from 1944 to 1989 and to this day still suffers the consequences from it. You can tell when a country has been in such a regime by the way people behave, by their mindset, by the educational system, even by the appearance of the cities, the towns and the villages. It takes a long time to get rid of the signs of socialism in a country, at least in mine. In spite of everything, I still love my country and I hope for a day when things will get better in it. And if you focus on the 1st chapter of "1984" and you've grown up in a post-socialistic country (or even if you've been alive during socialism in your country), you will relate to the majority of the text.
I hope you enjoyed my post and I hope you consider reading "1984".
