November 11 Singles and their Day

I was surprised that for my civil situation there was a day, Guanggun Jie or Singles Day is celebrated in China every November 11, it is a date on which that situation is commemorated with great pride, it was chosen especially on 11/11 Because of its symbolism, 1 represents a single person.
This idea arose at the University of Nanjing, where they decided to choose this date as the anti Valentine's Day, it has been celebrated since the 90s. In a society as consumerist as China, the idea is very popular and is exploited to the fullest, comparing such a celebration with that of Black Friday in the United States.


11 de Noviembre los Solteros y su Día

Me sorprendió que para mi situación civil había un día, Guanggun Jie o Día del soltero se celebra en China todos los 11 de Noviembre, es una fecha en la cual se conmemora con mucho orgullo esa situación, se escogió en especial el día 11/11  por su simbolojía pues el 1 representa a una persona sola.
esta idea surgió en la Universidad de Nankín, donde decidieron elegir esta fecha como el anti San Valentín, es celebrada desde la década de los 90. En una sociedad tan consumista como la china, la idea calo muy bien y es explotada al maximo, comparandose tal celebración con la  del Black Friday de estados unidos.

Hahaha it looks so, one day of singles. It should be a party for everyone even if they are married. Can you imagine that day everyone is single. Celebrating only for that day
