Our family lost 5 family members to cancer in 5 months. It was a horrible time of our lives and I will blog about it at some point when I am ready to put all those emotions down in words. For now though I wanted to share with you how I honour them. I cut my hair and donate it to a cancer association that makes wigs for people battling with cancer. This doesn't make me a hero, my hair which is healthy and grows back quickly. The heroes are the brave people fighting the biggest fight of their lives. But it's my way of saying I will never forget. My youngest daughter decided that she also wanted to honour them by donating her long hair too. I was so proud of her, because she loves her long hair and it came as quite a surprise, as her hair was being cut she said "Grandad this is for you."
