Every time I see the Banjo it reminds me of 'Furry' a character from the 'Powerpuff Girls' and I saw them as a child. Another one that seems curious to me is the difference between the Violin and the Viola.
There are probably dozens of exotic stringed instruments to be listed, but they are less widely known.
