Tea with Mrs. Alma
I can tell a lot about any person by the touch of the hands. That girl was special, believe me. Her fingers cuddled my skin as she spoke and her voice seemed to sing for me and for the old lady.
‘Lovely crochet, Mrs. Alma, this pattern with flowers makes a beautiful effect’
She leaned towards me with genuine interest, while pouring the tea in the mugs (Mrs. TeaPot claims it was her that caught the girl’s attention, but it wasn't so).
‘I have a tea cosy collection, to me knitting was like drawing little birds and flowers . Would you like to see it?’ - her voice sounded doubtful and excited at the same time.
‘Very much!’
