Encaustic art, it's something else...

That's my slogan. But what is encaustic art, and how do you do it?

Encaustic art is: painting with beeswax. Beeswax that you heat and then apply to a surface. The most famous (and easy) is painting with an iron, size travel iron. You heat the iron and melt the beeswax, which you then apply to paper or other surface. Especially when you start I'd start on encaustic paper.

@Encaustichris it is a technique that I did not know, thanks for having talked about it and documented it with beautiful photos, it is not like using the classic brushes, this technique requires the use of a specific iron but it is certainly very fun and you... @w.festuccia well actually, you can also work with brushes, but it's more difficult (as long as the wax is melted, you can paint). I sometimes use a stylus (part two), to paint as if it were a brush.

wat een mooie blog. Maar deze blonde snapt het nog niet helemaal. Verwarm de was op het ijzertje......blijft die was dan op het ijzertje zitten net zoals een schilder met zijn pallet zeg maar??
