About stale bread, zero waste and never buy breadcrumbs again...
Old bread... it's a thingy... I remember the days when I was a little girl, I was allowed to go to the park to feed the ducklings there. In a large bag of stale bread and occasionally gnawing on a dry chunk, I was allowed to feed the ducks in the pond. A big mistake now appears because apparently this results in macho behavior of the male ducks. Because they no longer have to hunt for food, they do not know a stay with their aggression, which in turn turns into rape of the female ducks. So I don't want to know how many rapes I actually caused, but... So I was talking about stale bread.
A delicious fresh sandwich is delicious, very tasty, but who doesn't regularly have some sandwiches or crusts in the house that are already a bit too hard to serve as fresh bread? And in times of zero waste and actions against food waste, it is a shame to just throw away this bread. For that tasty bread, raw materials were needed, and I am not just talking about the cereals and the water, but also about the agricultural land, the drive of machines, the energy for processing, the precious time of the baker, etc. Piece by piece things that shouldn't be thrown away, right?
Yeah, nice, but what am I supposed to do with it, you wonder?
Simple, use it for something else.
Make it something delicious... there are a lot of possibilities to turn your old bread into something delicious.
De eendjes hebben wij nooit brood gegeven, brood is slecht voor eenden.
Mijn oma maakte brood vers door het boven een pannetje met stomend water te houden en maakte ook broodtaart.
